12 Angry Men - June 1st

An all time classic. 12 Angry Men is a 1957 American drama film adapted from a teleplay of the same name by Reginald Rose. It stars Ed Begley, who's mother hails from Killorglin. There will be an award in honour of Ed Begley also presented on the night. Tickets are very limited, click here to ensure you get yours.

When Ali Came to Ireland - June 2nd

​When Ali Came to Ireland is the story of how Butty Sugrue, a circus strongman from Killorglin, Co. Kerry, pulled off a massive sporting coup in July 1972 when he arranged a fight in Croke Park between 'The Greatest' Muhammad Ali and ex-con Alvin 'Blue' Lewis. The fight had an amazing impact on the people Ali met and on the great man himself. Afterwards there is a Q&A with one of the shows directors Aideen O'Sullivan. We have confirmed a new screening at Chapel on the Hill at 2.30pm on Saturday. There will be 5 shorts showing (just over an hour)...

Needle Exchange: The story of Spencer and Glenn, two best friends who helped each other swap their heroin habits with a passion for tattoos.
 

Deke's Diner: Deke, a former Elvis impersonator, struggles in the recession to keep his restaurant going on his own. Filmed in one day in the docks in Ringsend, ‘Deke’s Diner’ shows the good-humoured resilience of Deke, his customers and the local community.
 

Bye Bye Now: A short documentary film that recalls the past importance of phone boxes in Irish life.
 

Also showing will be Oscar nominated animated short Head Over Heels, produced by Cromane's Fodhla Cronin O'Reilly and He, The Town by Neil Browne.
