As the respected Kerry Film Festival celebrates its 15th year, Kfest Arts and Music Festival are proud to present a selection of some of the great, glorious and Oscar-nominated shorts that have been screened as part of the KFF programme over the years.

Documentaries, animated, Irish and International narratives are all represented in this varied and entertaining collection. Featuring works from Oscar nominated director Steph Green. Featuring the short films of multi award winning Irish documentarian Anna Rodgers. 'Hold On Tight', 'Novena' and 'Somebody To Love' are three brave and unique short films about sexuality in Ireland.

What is it like growing up gay in rural and suburban Ireland in the 21st Century. These films are life lessons and eye openers. Soft, engaging, loving and accessible for everyone. This is programme not to be missed.

Kfest is proud to welcome Ireland’s only Secret Cine Club as it offers fans of groundbreaking films the opportunity to meet in an extraordinary venue in Killorglin to watch a film that remains a secret until the credits actually roll across the screen!

Look out around town for clues during Kfest. Hints will also be provided about the location and the film itself, on Facebook and Twitter and for anyone still baffled, the location will be announced locally and online on the morning of the screening so that people can experience the unique Secret Cine Club.

THREE SMART GIRLS (1936)

Oisin Cinema which opened in 1936 was for so many the centre of town for over 60 years. When it closed its door for the last time in 1999, Killorglin truly lost an iconic landmark. Nightly Projections of the first film ever shown in the Oisin will be beamed on the external facade of the building when night falls. Keep an eye out and enjoy the wonderful 'Three Smart Girls' starring Deanna Durbin and Ray Milland.

MOON MAN (2012)

A bored Man in the Moon hitches a ride to Earth on the tails of a passing comet and starts to explore the fantastical creatures and sights of a new planet. But all is not well - the Moon Man's absence from his post means that all the world's children are unable to sleep. Kingstons Front Bar will turn into a pop-up cinema with a lunch time film amd music experience that will entertain and astound the public. A silent film brought to life live as a homage to the old classics. Grab your instrument, grab your partner, grab your pint and come join in the fun!!
